Upcoming Elections

The August 4, 2026 State Primary Election is a Statewide Election that includes all voters in all three precincts in Leighton Township. Leighton Township’s ballots also include a County proposal and two Township proposals. Please click on the links for the sample ballots to view ballot language for the August 4 Election.

  • Leighton Township Precinct Map
  • Absent Voter Ballots available:  Beginning Thursday, June 25, 2026 Absent Voter Ballot Application
  • In-person Only Voter Registration (must be at the Township Clerk’s Office):  July 21-August 4.
  • Early Voting: 8:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. daily beginning Saturday, July 25 through Sunday, August 2.
  • Clerk’s Office Hours the Weekend prior to Election Day:  Saturday, August 1 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • August 4 Election Day:  Polls open from 7am to 8 pm
  • Absentee Ballots due to Township Clerk’s Office: Tuesday, August 4 at 8 pm – postmarks NOT accepted!!

 

 

Absent Voter Counting Board Early Tabulation (10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)

will be conducted at the Leighton Township Hall:  4451 12th St., Suite A

3 Election Inspectors per day.

Tuesday, July 28

Friday, July 31

State Law allows the early tabulation of absentee ballots beginning 8 days before Election Day.

Some days may be canceled or end early because all ballots received have been tabulated. Check this site for updates.

 

Leighton Township Election Information

Leighton Township has 3 Precincts.  Voting for all Leighton Township Precincts occurs at the Town Hall/Library located at 4451 12th St., Wayland, MI 49348

Precinct #1 includes voters within the Wayland School District.
Precinct #2 is comprised of voters in the Caledonia & Thornapple-Kellogg School Districts
Precinct #3 includes voters within the Wayland School District.
